Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter are the team most able to rely on pure individual quality to break through in games of teams in Serie A.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, Sconcerti gave the view that the Nerazzurri can settle tight matches through individual quality more than their city rivals AC Milan based on early matches.

Inter have found the back of the net five times in their first two Serie A matches, with moments of individual quality from players like Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Denzel Dumfries having allowed them to turn dominance of possession into concrete returns.

Sconcerti contrasts that with their city rivals the Rossoneri, who showed plenty of their strength against Atalanta but only managed to score one goal as the match was a little short on moments of magic from individuals apart from the two goals.

“Milan are a team that have grown in individual ability, but who don’t yet know what to do with all this extra quality,” he suggestd. “This is not so with Inter, who had an easier opponent, but who never lost their focus on scoring goals and on getting the whole team involved.”

“Inter has the ability to find the goal independently of the quality of their overall game,” Sconcerti goes on. “They find it through individual superiority. At the moment this has a lot of weight, as all the teams are very organized, even the smaller ones.”
