Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini believes that the €60-65 million that had been reported as a possible fee for Inter defender Milan Skriniar would have been a good amount to receive for the 27-year-old.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Sabatini gave his thoughts on the valuation that had been attached to Skriniar when he was a target for Paris Saint-Germain earlier on during the summer transfer window.

Skriniar now looks set to stay at Inter for the season, but at one point he had looked close to joining PSG, with the Parisians pressing to try and get a deal done for the Slovakian who they had made a priority target.

In the end, the Ligue 1 side were not ready to make an offer that came close to Inter’s asking price, with the Nerazzurri having been reported to be holding out for €70 million or even €80 million for the defender, although it had been speculated that a little over €60 million could have been enough to get a deal done.

Sabatini stated that “Even at €60-65 million, it would have been a good price for Skriniar, and I say that with all due respect to the player.”
