Lazio President Claudio Lotito has asked defender Francesco Acerbi to forego his wages for the months of July and August if he is to join Inter on loan before the end of the transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Repubblica.it, who report that the Biancocelesti President still wants the 34-year-old to give up the approximately €800,000 he is owed for the past two months if he is to complete the switch to the Nerazzurri.

Inter have been in advanced talks with Lazio to sign Acerbi on loan as their final defensive reinforcement of the summer, and Lotito is ready to make a loan deal in order to get the out-of-favour Acerbi off of the Biancocelesti’s wage bill.

The agreement is essentially all in place, but for his part Lotito is still requesting that the defender agree not to take his wages for July and August and this could be the one remaining holdup to the deal being wrapped up.
