Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi wants a move to Inter and would be ready to make the switch on loan immediately, but the Nerazzurri are keeping the move on standby for the moment.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old has made joining the Nerazzurri his priority, but that they still haven’t given up on signing either Manuel Akanji or Trevoh Chalobah so they’re not ready to take the plunge and sign him.

A deal with Lazio to loan Acerbi would not be very hard to agree for Inter at this stage, as the only remaining detail would be ironing out the loan fee, with the Biancocelesti seeking a sum equal to the player’s wages from July and August, around €800,000.

For his part, the 34-year-old former Sassuolo defender would be very keen on making the move to Inter to reunite with Simone Inzaghi, and he is waiting on the deal being done.

However, at the moment the Nerazzurri are still not fully convinced on Acerbi ahead of other options like Borussia Dortmund’s Akanji and Chelsea’s Chalobah, and waiting on possible developments in their situations before they wrap up a move for the Lazio defender.
