Former Napoli and SPAL coach Giovanni Galeone believes that while Inter look like a strong team, the style of football they play is not overly pleasing to watch.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, Galeone gave his appraisal of the aesthetic qualities currently on show in the Italian top flight, and doesn’t overly like what he sees.

The style of play in Serie A has been heavily focused on aggressive pressing out of possession and quick attacking moves among Serie A’s elite, with all three of last season’s top three employing this style in the form of AC Milan, Inter, and Napoli.

Moreover, the return of Romelu Lukaku has if anything meant that the Nerazzurri will become more direct and lose some of the methodical possession-based approach that they utilized last season.

Meanwhile, Juventus look ready to press on with the cagey and conservative tactical approach that has largely become the hallmark of their coach Max Allegri.

“I’m not very happy with what I see in the Italian league,” Galeone said, “at the moment I’ve seen Napoli and Cremonese play beautiful football. Inter are very strong, but I don’t think they’ve been playing beautiful football.”
