Inter and Roma could face sanctions including restrictions on registering players for European competitions and even a transfer ban if they are to fail to comply with Financial Fair Play going forward.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that whereas Juventus and AC Milan will face just fines for their noncompliance, the Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi could face further sanctions per the terms of their agreement with UEFA.

A number of top clubs around Europe have been hit with sanctions due to the proceedings opened up by UEFA into noncompliance with FFP, with Inter, Milan, Roma, and Juventus the four Italian teams under the microscope of European football’s top governing body.

For the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri, the agreement is for a fine of around €3-5 million for noncompliance, but in the case of the Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi further possible sanctions have been agreed in addition to the fine if there is further noncompliance.

These could include restrictions on the number of players who can be registered for European competitions like the Champions League and the Europa League, and the harshest would be a transfer ban.
