Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah would be keen on making the move to Inter, but his current club are not prepared to let him leave without first signing another defender.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 23-year-old has been convinced partly due to a personal friendship with Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku, but that Chelsea are still working on other defensive deals to clear the way.

Chalobah does not seem to have a prominent place in Chelsea’s plans for this season, whilst the Blues are targeting a deal to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana before the transfer window closes.

Inter see the 23-year-old as an option to reinforce the defense without spending much if he is available on loan, and Chelsea could agree to such a deal, but the issue right now is that the Premier League side are not ready to let him leave without first securing a defender to take his place.
