Legendary former Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano is a fan of both Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji as far as defenders the Nerazzurri are linked with.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInter1908, Cassano expressed approval of both defenders as possible transfer targets for the Nerazzurri for the last few days of the transfer window.

Inter are reportedly still trying to sign either Chalobah or Akanji before the transfer window slams shut, with the Englishman and the Swiss reportedly higher priorities than Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi.

Both would be younger players than Acerbi, or than Andrea Ranocchia who they would replace, and could arrive for major bargains, although all this would mean little if they were not also high-quality defenders.

For his part, however, Cassano believes that they are, stating that “For defenders linked with Inter, Chalobah is a very good player, and so is Akanji, as far as the names being linked.”
