Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani has said that Marcelo Brozovic is the player who has impressed him the most since he got to Inter this summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with the Lega Serie A YouTube channel, via FCInternews, Kristjan Asllani discussed the early stages of his time with the Nerazzurri having made the move from Empoli earlier this summer.

It is well known that Kristjan Asllani has always been an Inter fan which is why the move was special. When asked about his earliest memory of San Siro, he picked out a derby that Inter won when he was a child.

“A derby that finished 2-1 to Inter, I don’t remember how old I was but it was beautiful. I dreamed of playing on that pitch, but there and then it was impossible to think.”

His first goal in Serie A actually came against Inter at San Siro for Empol last season on which he said: “It was beautiful, there were 75,000 people in the stadium. Hearing the roar at Inter’s goals is a fantastic emotion. I was very happy for my first goal.”

When asked about what sort of role he should play in the Inter team, he stressed that he should play just in front of the defence.

“I was born play in front of the defence, it’s my ideal role. I am a player who plays well with both feet, I can play in many midfield roles, it makes no difference. I have to grow and improve, especially in the defensive phase.”

Talking about his new teammates, he picked out a player that stood out to him: “They all impressed me, most of all Brozovic: I like watching him, he’s so strong.”
