Simone Inzaghi is very keen not to have to wait so long for a win against a direct rival and is aiming to get it against Lazio on Friday, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, it took Inter until the fifth attempt to beat one of the six other biggest teams in Italy in Serie A last season.

That meant that they struggled to ever make much ground on the likes of AC Milan and Napoli who were at the top for a long time.

They are facing Lazio on Friday at the Stadio Olimpico in what is just the third match of the season so it is a great chance for Inter to immediately deal a blow to one of the best teams in the country.

Inter drew 2-2 with Atalanta, lost 3-1 to Lazio, drew 1-1 with Juventus, 1-1 with Milan before then beating Roma 3-0.
