AC Milan could find that they have got a free run at Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as Inter appear to be out of the picture for now, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Rossoneri are now the best placed Italian team to get a deal for the 23-year-old English defender over the line.
Inter do not look like they will be able to afford the loan fee that Chelsea are commanding for the player that recently spent a season on loan at Huddersfield Town in the Championship.
There is also the fact that Inter do not want to have an obligation to make the deal permanent as that would be far too expensive an operation.
Much like Inter’s situation, AC Milan need a new defender to replace Alessio Romagnoli who left for Lazio at the end of his contract.
