Barcelona sporting advisor Jordi Cruyff has labelled Inter’s Champions League group as a ‘group of death’ and talked about how Inter have strengthened, according to a report in the Spanish media.

Speaking during an interview with Mundo Deportivo in Spain after the Champions League group stage draw which took place on Thursday evening in the UEFA headquarters, Jordi Cruyff did not shy away from the fact that it is the toughest group on paper in the competition.

“It will be difficult, with strong and important teams, a group of death to enjoy and suffer. For Lewandowski it will be a special game, but also for us because we have had three or four difficult games against them, but we have a different team to other seasons and I think we can play it.”

The group contains Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well as Inter and Czech side Viktoria Plzen. Inter will be aiming to get out of the group although it will be very tough.

Jordi Cruyff does seem to be impressed with the summer business that the Nerazzurri have done though and he picked out Romelu Lukaku as a player that has strengthened the team in comparison to last year.

“Inter have strengthened with Lukaku and it will be a difficult game. And you must never lose sight of the fourth team, which is usually a very physical team, you have to respect everyone.”
