Inter have set a deadline of this weekend to try and see some movement from Chelsea or Borussia Dortmund in regard to Trevoh Chalobah and Manuel Akanji, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inter will keep trying until Saturday or Sunday at the latest to try and get one of their favoured defensive targets.
They would rather find an agreement on a loan deal for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah or a permanent deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji, rather than sign Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi.
It is looking increasingly likely that it will be Francesco Acerbi that provides the depth that has been missing since Andrea Ranocchia left for Monza.
The loan for Trevoh Chalobah could prove to have too expensive a fee and for Manuel Akanji there is a €15 million asking price and given he has one year left on his deal, he cannot be signed on loan.
