Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisani has bemoaned the fact that Inter have ended up in a Champions League group with Bayern Munich and Barcelona, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sport Mediaset after the Inter vs Lazio match, via FCInter1908, the journalist returned to take a loom at Inte’s Champions League group which was drawn on Thursday in Istanbul.

The Nerazzurri were in pot three and as the journalist points out, it is incredibly hard to get a good group when you are that far down the pecking order.

He bemoaned the fact that whilst that may be the case, Inter have managed to get the hardest possible two teams from pot one and pot two that can be faced in conjunction.

“It’s difficult to have comfortable groups in the third pot, but until you have a group like Inter’s, it’s a long way off. Between Bayern and Barça you struggle to choose the team with more quality.

“The Germans are a less standard and more liquid team without Lewandowski, but Inter managed the undesirable feat of facing him regardless because they drew both Bayern and Barcelona.”

Inter’s Champions League group is made up of Bayern Munich and Barcelona and then the fourth team is Czech side Viktoria Plzen.
