Goalscorer Lautaro Martinez was the closest thing to an outstanding performer in Inter’s 3-1 Serie A loss to Lazio in Serie A yesterday evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who give the Argentine a grade of 6.5/10 in the player ratings for the match, whilst his teammates and coach Simone Inzaghi largely receive lower scores on what was a bad night for the team as a whole.

Martinez temporarily gave his team relief and hope by popping up with an equalizing goal during the second half at the Stadio Olimpico, showing that even when he’s not at his best his predatory instincts can be of great benefit to the team.

However, in the end this was cancelled out by Luis Alberto giving the Biancocelesti the lead again before Pedro sealed the win for the hosts.

Few Nerazzurri players cam away with much credit from the Gazzetta, although captain Samir Handanovic also got a 6.5/10 score for making a string of saves to prevent Inter’s night from getting even worse.

Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini and wingback Federico Dimarco received grades of 4.5/10, with the latter responsible for the defensive error that allowed Lazio’s first-half opener, whilst coach Inzaghi received the same score after getting his tactics all wrong.
