Lazio forward Felipe Anderson has said that Samir Handanovic not coming out to meet him meant that he could place his header much more easily, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media tonight.

Speaking during an interview with DAZN after the match at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday night, via FCInternews, the Brazilian forward talked about how he managed to give his team the lead against the Nerazzurri in the first half of the Serie A clash.

He got on the end of a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic cross and headed into an empty part of Samir Handanovic’s goal.

He picked out the fact that the Slovenian goalkeeper stayed on his goalline as a reason why the finish was a relatively simple one to pull off.

“At the start games are always difficult and we always look ahead. We can’t get distracted. The headed goal? We forwards are always afraid of the goalkeeper’s exit with those balls that come from behind. Then I saw that on the cross he didn’t come out (Handanovic) and then I was able to place it well.”

Inter equalised at the start of the second half but then a wonder strike from Luis Alberto and a very good goal from Pedro meant that Lazio won 3-1.
