The father of former Inter, Atalanta, and Empoli and current Hajduk Split forward Marko Livaja has passed away in a car accident.

This according to reports from Croatian media, via FCInterNews, which state that the 28-year-old’s father Milan had been riding a motorcycle in Kastel Sucurac, just north of Split, when the accident occurred.

Livaja spent two years as an Inter player, between 2011 and 2013, at which point he made the move to Atalanta during the summer of 2013.

The Croat never broke into the Nerazzurri first team and only made a few appearances, although he found playing time easier to come by at Atalanta before moving to the likes of Empoli, Las Palmas, and AEK Athens before making the switch to his current team Hajduk Split.

Livaja’s current club Hajduk Split have rallied around him, giving him all the support that he needs during what is a very difficult time for him.
