Ex-Inter Striker Andrea Pinamonti After Debut Goal For Sassuolo: “Scoring Goals The Best Way To Integrate Into The Team”

Former Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti feels that he’s taken a big step into his new environment by scoring his first goal for Sassuolo in a 2-2 draw with Spezia yesterday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 23-year-old gave his thoughts on the importance of getting off the mark in Serie A to really becoming comfortable and establish himself as a Neroverdi player.

Last summer, Pinamonti enjoyed a breakout campaign at Empoli on loan from Inter, with the young striker getting off the mark early on and finishing with a goal tally of thirteen goals to show how much he could thrive with the Tuscan club.

This summer, Sassuolo won the race for Pinamonti’s signature, with a number of teams both inside of Serie A and abroad having been keen on his signature in the hopes that he could replicate his Empoli form.

Nothing was guaranteed as the 23-year-old is starting all over again at a new club, but now in his second match in a Neroverdi shirt, and his first start, Pinamonti looks to have laid down an important marker.

“I’m excited because scoring is the best way to integrate into a new team,” the striker said. “It was a tough match and we got back in it.”

And of his new coach Alessio Dionisi, “He’s part of the reason why I’m here. He has always given me confidence that the goals would come even though I’m not yet at my best.”
