Former Inter, Atletico Madrid, and Lazio striker Christian Vieri believes that the Nerazzurri are the favourites for the Serie A title this season, whilst Manchester City are the team best-placed to win the Champions League.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, Vieri gave his predictions for the ultimate winners in two of the main competitions that the Nerazzurri are fighting for this season.
Inter will feel that they are among the favourites for the Scudetto this season, although they will know perfectly well that it won’t be easy given the quality that’s been shown by the likes of AC Milan, Napoli, Juventus, and Lazio among others.
Meanwhile, in the Champions League it is a different story, as the Nerazzurri will feel that they can fight but at the same time be well aware that they are not necessarily among the major favourites by contrast to some of Europe’s elite.
Vieri predicted that “This year Inter will win the Scudetto. But then Manchester City will win the Champions League. Haaland will score at least forty goals and Guardiola is the best coach ever.”
