Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi will join Inter on loan without a fee due to the fact that he has agreed to forgo the wages he is owed for the past two months by his current club.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old has reached an agreement with the Biancocelesti that he will not ask for the wages owed for July and August, and that this has freed him to join Inter on a free loan.
Acerbi’s July and August wages had always looked to be one of the few real sticking points in talks regarding a loan move from Lazio to Inter, with the Biancocelesti not keen to pay the past two months of his wages if he leaves.
The capital club had been asking for a loan fee from Inter that would cover the 34-year-old’s wages, but the Nerazzurri have made clear that the budget available to cover a loan fee is very small.
However, with the player forgoing his wages for July and August, the Biancocelesti will not demand a loan fee, which should make his loan move to Inter straightforward.
