Inter striker Romelu Lukaku could miss not only the next couple of Serie A matches through a thigh strain, but also the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener against Bayern Munich.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 29-year-old is a doubt for the match against the German champions at the San Siro in addition to Serie A clashes with Cremonese and AC Milan.
Lukaku suffered a strain to his left thigh in training today, and it will be at minimum enough to cause him to miss the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Cremonese on Tuesday, whilst it is also not clear that he will recover in time to face the Rossoneri in the derby next weekend.
Given that Lukaku’s recovery timeline is still not clear, the Belgian could also be unable to play when the Nerazzurri host Bayern in their first group stage match of the Champions League the Wednesday after next.
