Forwards Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa are both in contention to start getting starts in attack at Inter for as long as striker Romelu Lukaku is out injured.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that Lukaku could miss as much as twenty days with a thigh strain, meaning that there could be opportunities for the main backup strikers.

Lukaku had started all three of Inter’s three opening matches in Serie A, but the Belgian will be forced to miss at the very least tomorrow’s clash with Cremonese and possibly several more matches after picking up a strain to his left thigh in training yesterday.

The plan had not necessarily been to call upon Dzeko and Correa so early in the season, but both are in the team partly to provide injury cover for the Belgian and Lautaro Martinez, and so they will start being included in the lineup until Lukaku recovers, which could be a few matches.
