Inter CEO Beppe Marotta could be set for a role in the Italian government at some point in the future.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who tip both Marotta and AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni for prominent roles in politics outside of football.
In Rossoneri President Scaroni’s case, the expectation is that he will be one of the main candidates to head up the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, but Marotta could also have a role in politics in his future.
The Nerazzurri CEO has a personal friendship with current Italian Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti who is from Varese like him.
Giorgetti is a prominent member of the right-wing Lega Nord party in Italy, but Marotta also has many admirers across the political spectrum for his running of not just the Nerazzurri but also Juventus and numerous smaller clubs across his career, always succeeding within tight financial constraints.
