Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani is set to start being given a more prominent role in the team over the coming matches.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to start handing more playing time to the Albanian as he looks to navigate a tricky and densely-packed fixture schedule in the coming weeks.

Asllani has not seen significant playing time over the Nerazzurri’s first three matches of the season, coming off the bench to make his debut in a 3-0 win against Spezia but not yet being trusted to play much ahead of first-choice holding midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

However, the 20-year-old was signed to make an immediate impact in the first team and show his quality while Brozovic and the other midfielders are given some time off to avoid over-exertion.

The feeling is that Asllani will be given opportunities to shine in the not-too-distant future.
