Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that Inter having to rely on their backup options in attack while Romelu Lukaku is injured is not something that can be complained about too much.
Giving his view in a tweet, Biasin suggested that given that the Nerazzurri have depth in the forward positions for situations exactly like this, it’s only right that they will have to rely on the likes of Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa whilst the Belgian is out.
Lukaku suffered a muscle strain in training today that looks as though it will rule him out for at least one match, and potentially a few.
The strain has not been reported to be serious enough to rule the 29-year-old out of more than a week or two, but given how close together the fixtures are at this time of the season, the likes of Dzeko and Correa could be vying to start two or three matches at least while he recovers.
Biasin tweeted, “With Lukaku out injured, it will be up to the other forwards (that’s why they’re there). Last season the backups were Correa and Sanchez, this season it’s Dzeko and Correa. Can’t complain about it.”
