Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will be feeling the pressure now that he will be expected to be the focal point in attack for the team during the period where Romelu Lukaku is out injured.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who suggest that the 25-year-old is at a crossroads as he will be expected to lead the line and be the Nerazzurri’s main man with Lukaku looking to be set to miss out on the Serie A clash with AC Milan and then the Champions League opener against Bayern Munich.

Martinez had become Inter’s main main in attack last season after Lukaku was sold to Chelsea, but with the Belgian having returned this summer, he was reunited with hid old strike partner.

Lukaku had been expected by some to re-establish himself as the senior partner in the attacking duo, but if anything it has been Martinez who has looked the better despite the fact that Lukaku has been made the focal point to how the team attacks.

Now, the Belgian will be out for at least one or two matches, and so Martinez will be under pressure to show that he can lead the attack even when Lukaku isn’t available.
