An unnamed Italian bank are among the companies who Inter are in talks with to replace cryptocurrency company DigitalBits as the main shirt sponsor, although there is no formal agreement yet.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are frantically searching for a new sponsor and will have the decision made within a couple of months.

Inter had signed a four-year partnership with DigitalBits during the summer worth €85 million, but given the serious financial difficulties faced by the cryptocurrency company it looks very unlikely they can go much further with the deal despite it having barely begun.

As such, the Nerazzurri are looking for a new main shirt sponsor, and aware that they are not likely to find an agreement that would bring them as much money as the one that they have with DigitalBits had stood to.

Meanwhile, Nike are frustrated with the situation between Inter and DigitalBits, who also sponsor the Nerazzurri’s Serie A rivals Roma, as the US manufacturer has already made over 200,000 shirts bearing the cryptocurrency company’s logo.
