Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has provided updates on the fitness of Marcelo Brozovic and Joaquin Correa after they came off during the second half of this evening’s Serie A win over Cremonese.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the coach explained that the duo had only picked up minor knocks, whilst he also expressed satisfaction with the manner of his team’s performance to secure the 3-1 win.

Inter got back to winning ways by defeating newly-promoted Cremonese, putting Friday’s loss to Lazio behind them in some style.

If there was one dark spot on the evening for the Nerazzurri it was in the fact that both Brozovic and Correa came off feeling some discomfort, although the coach was in a relaxed mood regarding both players’ problems.

“They picked up minor knocks, nothing more than that,” he explained when asked about their condition.

“I’m very happy,” the coach said of the match. “We won a difficult match against a team that have picked up fewer points than they’ved deserved. The guys did well and played a great match.”

And of striker Lautaro Martinez’s goal from the bench, he said that “He came on and did well, so did everyone, Everyone who came on helped us out.”

Of Friday’s loss, Inzaghi said that “Against Lazio we started the match well, Dumfries’ chance at 1-1 would probably mean it was a different match.”

“But the Olimpico match is now forgotten,” he added, “we won a tough match and we have a point more than we did this point last season, winning two matches in front of our wonderful fans.”

“Our physical condition is improving,” he noted, “we know we have to face a lot of challenging matches and we certainly need to improve.”

Of the lingering effects of last season’s failure in the title race, the coach said that “I don’t think that the group feels weighed down by the outcome of last season, we won two trophies and fought until the last day.”

“We know the joys and disappointments that come from not having won three trophies last season, but we brought two trophies here, including one that hadn’t been managed for twelve years.”

“I wouldn’t think too much about Milan, just about the season,” he added. “The expectations are always high when you’re at Inter, there’s been too much talk but honestly it only fuels me, after the Lazio I have heard so much talk.”

“We deservedly lost against a strong team, at a difficult away ground,” he said of defeat to the Biancocelesti. “But there was a lot of noise about that defeat, but the guys did well to play an organized match anyway, against a side who will cause a lot of teams problems.”

Of being ahead of Milan after four games, Inzaghi said “It means nothing, it’s too early in the season. Wins give us a boost, losses make us reflect, but you can always come out stronger after a defeat.”

And of transfer rumours around wingback Robin Gosens, he said that “I don’t know anything. I’m worried about the fact that that no central defender has arrived, we have many games and as natural central defender we have is de Vrij, and then a young player in Fontanarossa who’s talented but wasn’t a starter for the Primavera.”

“The club knows what needs to be done, they know what the issue is, I need six defenders and right now we only have five for all of the matches that we have to play,” he concluded.
