Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is set to be out for a month with his thigh injury, and is likely to be back after the international break to face Roma and Barcelona.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is not likely to be risked before the international break, but is targeting the matches after the break.
Lukaku will miss today’s Serie A clash with Cremonese, and after yesterday’s tests revealed that he had suffered muscular damage in his thigh flexors should also be out for the team’s matches against AC Milan in the league and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It is very unlikely that the Belgian would be rushed back for the Nerazzurri’s subsequent matches, which are against the likes of Torino, Viktoria Plzen, and Udinese, but instead the aim will be to give him a full period of rest and recovery to ensure he comes back fully fit.
After the international break Inter are back in action with a Serie A match against the Giallorossi and then a Champions League group stage clash with the Blaugranas, and these will be the two matches that Lukaku is targeting for his return.
