Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Simon Rolfes has denied that the Bundesliga team are trying to sign Inter wingback Robin Gosens.

Speaking to German news outlet Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger, the Leverkusen executive made clear that his club have not made the Nerazzurri any offers for the 28-year-old despite reports that have emerged over the past couple of days.

Reports yesterday suggested that Leverkusen were preparing to make Inter an offer to sign Gosens before the summer transfer window closed, and that the Nerazzurri could be prepared to accept their bid if it included a purchase obligation in addition to a loan.

However, the talks have not yet reached any concrete phase, and Leverkusen Sporting Director Rolfes has issued a denial in no uncertain terms of the German club’s interest in signing Gosens.

It will remain to be seen if things change before the transfer window deadline, but for the moment Leverkusen’s stance seems clear.

Rolfes said that “There have been no offers for him from Bayer, and we have no intention of signing him,” when asked about Gosens.
