Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is not currently expecting that wingback Robin Gosens will depart from the club before the end of the transfer window despite transfer rumours surrounding him.

Speaking in a press conference after his team’s 3-1 win over Cremonese, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach reacted to the rumours around the German, while also admitting that he hopes that defender Francesco Acerbi can be signed before the transfer deadline.

The transfer window is getting closer and closer to slamming shut, but the Nerazzurri are still the subject of some significant transfer rumours both in terms of incoming and outgoing business that could be completed soon.

Gosens is linked with an exit after reports that talks have taken place with Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen, whilst Inter have reportedly been looking at a number of possible replacements for the German in addition to Acerbi as the final signing to complete the defensive depth.

“As far as Gosens I don’t know anything,” Inzaghi stated, “my biggest problem today was beating Cremonese. Gosens is working very well, he’s finding his best form again. Now I’ve been deciding to put him on during the match and seeing his physical condition improve.”

And of statements by Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier suggesting that the Parisians are still interested in Inter defender Milan Skriniar, Inzaghi responded that “I usually never talk about players from other teams, I wasn’t aware of his statements.”

“As far as the transfer window, I talked about it fifteen days ago,” the coach emphasized. “Today we need a defender, the club is aware of that, there are two and a half days left and I hope that I’m left satisfied with what happens.”

Asked if he hoped that Acerbi could be signed, the coach left no doubt, replying “Absolutely, yes. In this hugely difficult schedule we need squad rotations.”

“Playing so much we still need the physical condition to improve, and injuries can happen,” the coach noted. We have to be ready for anything, we know that everything up until the November break will be a massive test.”
