Inter have denied a report that they have agreed terms on a loan deal for left-back Jordi Alba with Barcelona.

This according to Spanish news outlet AS, who report that sources within the Nerazzurri contacted deny the report by Spanish journalist Gerard Romero that they have agreed on a loan for the 33-year-old that would see the Blaugranas cover part of his wages.

Romero reported in a tweet that Inter and Barcelona have agreed terms on a loan deal for Alba, which would see the Spaniard join on a season-long loan with the Blaugranas covering 60% of his wages and the Nerazzurri covering the other 40%, to which the tax benefits of the Growth Decree would be applicable.

However, according to AS this has been denied by a source within Inter, who was contacted about the rumour of an agreement for Alba’s signature and stated that no such agreement exists.

Romerto tweeted, “There’s an agreement in principle between Barcelone and Inter for a transfer of Jordi Alba. Agreement between clubs but the player hasn’t yet given his approval.”
