Inter forward Joaquin Correa may well have earned himself a place in the starting eleven for Saturday’s derby against AC Milan with his performance in yesterday evening’s 3-1 victory over Cremonese in Serie A.
This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who note that 28-year-old received positive scores across the board in the player ratings for the match in Italian media, an encouraging sign that he could play an important role for the team this season.
Correa has now reached a third of his six-goal tally from last season, following up his goal from the bench against Sepzia by scoring the Nerazzurri’s crucial opener against Cremonese.
It was not just his goal that marked out the Argentine’s performance against Cremonese, however, as he looked sharp throughout his time on the pitch.
The Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corriere dello Sport, and Tuttosport all gave Correa A 6.5/10 score for his display, whilst TuttoMercatoWeb and L’Interista went a grade higher to 7/10.
If this is the level that Correa can muster going forward, he could prove himself in an Inter shirt in a way that he didn’t last season, maybe even starting with this weekend’s massive head-to-head clash with Milan.
