Inter have identified Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso as one of their main alternatives to Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa to replace Robin Gosens if the wingback moves to Bayer Leverkusen before the transfer window closes.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who also report that the Nerazzurri could take Leverkusen left-back Mitchel Bakker as part of a deal for Gosens to replace the German.

Inter will not let Gosens leave without a replacement lined up, and they look to have been working quickly to lay the groundwork to sign Sosa from Stuttgart as the priority if they agree a deal with Leverkusen for Gosens.

However, there are also fallback options, with Alonso a player who Inter have been linked with in the past, and they are ready to make a very late move for the Spaniard as well.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen have reportedly offered a loan swap involving Bakker, who they value at €20 million, and Gosens, as an alternative to a loan deal for the former Atalanta wingback with a purchase obligation, and Inter could consider the Dutchman as a like-for-like replacement.
