Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu feels that the team did well to come away with a 3-1 win over Cremonese as nothing can be taken for granted against a team like the newly-promoted side.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the Turk gave his immediate reaction to the match, and also looked ahead to the Milan derby against AC Milan over the weekend, stating that the team are excited and ready for the challenge ahead.

Calhanoglu helped the team to three points in his return to the team after having been left out of the starting eleven for their 3-1 loss to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday.

Now, the Nerazzurri have the wind in their sails once again, and can go into the derby against the Rossoneri feeling some confidence, although they will know perfectly well that it is never an easy fixture.

“I’m happy, I hope to be able to play as much as possible,” Calhanoglu said, “I’m happy with how things went today.”

“It wasn’t easy to play against this very physical Cremonese side,” he continued, “we did our best and we showed a good response. We played with courage we scored some good goals all together.”

“We always had men marking us, it wasn’t easy playing a team who mark man-to-man, but we made different movements to look for spaces and we hurt them in those spaces.”

“We needed a reaction after the defeat against Lazio and we deserved this,” the midfielder added. “Now we’re fired up for the derby, we know it’s always a difficult match, they’re strong but so are we. We’ll need to show patience, but we’re fired up.”
