Inter are looking at Stuttgart wingback Borna Sosa as their priority option to replace Robin Gosens if the German leaves before the transfer window closes, although he is far from a perfect option in the view of Italian media.

The 24-year-old is branded as the “Croatian Federico Dimarco” in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who note that like the Inter player he is unquestionably strong in an attacking sense but has some defensive issues.

Sosa notched eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, a reflection of the Croat’s technical ability and his deliveries into the box, and this has made him a target for a number of big clubs in Europe including Inter who had also considered a move for him in January.

However, the 24-year-old is far from the finished article, particularly in his defensive duties, and it will remain to be seen whether he can become the kind of well-rounded left-wingback that is still needed at the Nerazzurri.
