Inter could finally wrap up a deal to sign defender Francesco Acerbi on loan from Lazio if Robin Gosens departs from the club amid Bayer Leverkusen interest.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri could find that their transfer business over the last couple of days of the transfer window is interlinked and that Acerbi could yet arrive despite difficulties.
Inter had looked all set to sign Acerbi as the final defensive reinforcement with terms of a loan all agreed between both clubs and the player and his representatives, but President Steven Zhang reportedly is not convinced by investing in the 34-year-old’s wages.
The President’s reservations centre around the fact that the Nerazzurri’s outgoing business this summer has not brought in as much as has been expected, but this could change if the club complete a last-minute deal to send Gosens to Leverkusen.
The Germans could be ready to offer Inter a deal whose total value would see them make a capital gain on the wingback who arrived from Atalanta in January, and this could unlock the deal for Acerbi.
