Inter president Steven Zhang has given his green light for Francesco Acerbi to join the Nerazzurri on loan, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian defender is now on his way to becoming the latest player to join Inter this summer.

The two clubs are about to settle the final details and then they will close the deal. It was a transfer that Steven Zhang had previously blocked but he has now decided to give the green light for Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio to secure the player.

Simone Inzaghi has been very clear with the club that he does not want to end the transfer window with only five senior central defenders in his squad.

Providing that the club do not sell Milan Skriniar in the final hours of the window, he will get his wish.
