Legendary former Inter President Massimo Moratti feels that if the Nerazzurri are unable to win the Serie A title this season, he’ll support former Inter coach Jose Mourinho at Roma.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, the former Nerazzurri President gave his thoughts on the title race and named the Giallorossi as his second team after his former club, due to the presence of his old coach and friend Mourinho on the bench.

Moratti never made any secret of the fact that he enjoys a warm relationship with Mourinho, not just on a professional level but also a human one.

The Portuguese coach returned to Serie A last summer to take charge of Roma, coming back to the Italian top flight for the first time since leaving Inter to manage Real Madrid in the summer of 2010, and after a season spent building the Giallorossi up they are seen by many as among the contenders for the Scudetto this time around.

“Every week there seems to be a fluctuation in the opinions about the teams fighting for the Scudetto,” Moratti said. “Milan are a strong team who play good football, they look concrete.”

“Inter have the advantage,” he continued. “They have the chance to win it. They had it last season as well, though, and that’s what scares me.”

“If Inter don’t win it, then there’s no doubt that I’ll be rooting for Mourinho’s Roma,” the former Nerazzurri President added.
