Inter-owned midfielder Lucien Agoume has said that moving to Troyes on loan was the right choice for him to make, according to a report in the French media today.

As has been said by the player in a statement after being officially unveiled as a Troyes player, he feels appreciated there and there are other young players for him to work with.

“Several young players in this squad showed great things at the start of the season, now it’s up to me to help the group and allow the team to reach its goals.

“I chose Troyes because I wanted to come back to play in France, I spoke at length with the coach and management and I felt appreciated.

“I wanted to make the right decision and Troyes was the best one for me this season. I am ready to give my best right away, starting with Sunday’s match against Rennes.”

Lucien Agoume made his professional debut for Sochaux against Troyes at the Stade de l’Aube and now he is going to be back there as their player, four years later.

The 20-year-old has joined on a one-year loan from the Nerazzurri and there is no possibility for Troyes to make the deal permanent next summer.

This will be the French midfielder’s second season in a row in the French top flight as he spent the previous season on loan at Stade Brest, along with fellow Inter youngster Martin Satriano.

He had been heavily linked with a move to either Cremonese or Lorient before choosing Troyes.
