Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has admitted that he hopes Andrea Pinamonti goes back to Inter because it would mean he has done very well for them, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.com, Giovanni Carnevali discussed Andrea Pinamonti’s move from Inter to Sassuolo which went through towards the end of the summer transfer window.

It is a one-year loan which will then be made permanent for a fee of €20 million. That will make him the most expensive player that the Neroverdi have ever signed.

He then suggested that he would like to see the 23-year-old striker go back to Inter as that would mean that he has played well enough to end up at a bigger club again.

“The only commitment we made with Inter is to have bought this player for a significant sum. €20 million, the most expensive player in Sassuolo’s history.

“For the rest, there is no agreement of any kind. With the Nerazzurri we have an excellent relationship: I hope he can return to Inter, it would mean that he has played well enough to land at a big club.”

The player spent the previous season on loan at Empoli where he scored 13 times. That allowed Inter to make money on him as they chose to do.
