Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has recovered from his illness and is set to start the derby against AC Milan on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the former Atalanta defender had been at risk of missing out on the match due to the virus that he has been suffering.
It was serious enough that he decided to sleep at the training centre rather than go home and risk infecting his young daughter.
Friday’s training sessions gave Simone Inzaghi the answer that he had been looking for; Alessandro Bastoni is well enough to start the game against the Rossoneri.
That puts Federico Dimarco more in the frame to start on the left wing rather than on the left of the back three. Robin Gosens and Matteo Darmian are also in the picture for that role on Saturday.
