Valentin Carboni is set to start on the bench for Inter against AC Milan for the first time in his career, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInter1908, the player born in 2005 could be set for a huge milestone in his career as Simone Inzaghi is expected to name him on the bench for the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday evening.

The fact that Romelu Lukaku is out with a thigh injury and Eddie Salcedo has been loaned to Bari means that Simone Inzaghi needs a fourth option in the matchday squad who can play as a striker.

Valentin Carboni is more of an attacking midfielder but he can be used further forward if needed. It is unlikely that he will get any minutes given the size of the game but if there were major injury issues, he could be called upon.
