Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has stressed to his players that they must show humility if they’re to bounce back from Saturday’s derby defeat at the hands of AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri coach has warned the players that no one is guaranteed a starting spot regardless of name or reputation.

Inter slumped to their second defeat of the season after a back-and-forth derby saw reigning Italian champions Milan look the more incisive team than the Nerazzurri to prevail 3-2 in the first derby of the season.

It was a result that saw Inzaghi frustrated and looking for answers as to how to respond, and he made clear to his players that they cannot expect to be treated as untouchable during this moment of reflection.

The coach will get back to work and assess ways to fix the cracks that have been appearing since preseason and which were laid bare by the Rossoneri, and in doing so he wants complete humility from all of his players and for everyone to fight for their place.
