Inter’s directors are still fully backing coach Simone Inzaghi despite Saturday’s Serie A derby defeat to AC Milan, but they are expecting a reaction.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri directors have made very clear to Inzaghi that the team cannot afford to go without a response after slumping to defeat against the Rossoneri.

A host of issues that have been evident since preseason reared their head in Inter’s 3-2 loss to Milan over the weekend, including a lack of compactness between the lines, lack of concentration, and some tactical murkiness.

The directors were present at training today as they typically are after matches, and they watched as Inzaghi led the training session and started work on the outstanding issues that were made clear in Saturday’s loss.

In speaking with the coach during the team lunch, the directors made it very clear that they still consider him the right man to try and lead the team out of the issues they’re experiencing, though also that they want to see a reaction immediately.
