Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to start getting more playing time for Inter in upcoming matches, whilst some other summer signings will have to wait longer to be given chances by coach Simone Inzaghi.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the coach feels that Mkhitaryan is ready whilst the likes of Andre Onana, Kristjan Asllani, and Raoul Bellanova are still winning him over.

Mkhitaryan came off the bench in the second half of Inter’s 3-2 derby loss to AC Milan on Saturday, and the Armenian gave the team a new spark in midfield, looking incisive and ready to contribute following full recovery from a muscle injury.

The Armenian is set to have a more prominent role in the near future, although the same cannot be said for Onana, Asllani, or Bellanova.

Onana is still behind Samir Handanovic in the pecking order, whilst Asllani is not yet seen by the coach as ready to have a regular role in the heart of the team’s midfield.

Bellanova, meanwhile, remains firmly behind Denzel Dumfries on the right side, and is seen as the least experience of the wingback options.
