Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has decided that he will give goalkeeper Andre Onana his first start of the season in this evening’s Champions League group stage opener against Bayern Munich.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Cameroonian will start in goal, with captain Samir Handanovic dropping to the bench for the match.

So far, Handanovic has started all five of Inter’s Serie A matches this season, with Onana having to wait for his opportunity to start, but it looks as though this will come this evenings as Inter host the German champions at the San Siro to kick off their European campaign.

The coach will not be afraid to make some changes to the starting eleven from the weekend’s Serie A loss to AC Milan, with Edin Dzeko and Robin Gosens also coming into the eleven, although the Gazzetta predict that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not start despite some reports suggesting as much.

Most significant of all perhaps could be a first competitive start for Onana after his move to Inter from Ajax on a free transfer during the summer.
