Bayern Munich Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic feels that Inter had some dangerous moments in yesterday’s Champions League group stage match but that once the Germans scored their second goal the contest was effectively over.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset after the match, Salihamidzic gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s performance had been a solid one that made things difficult for his team, but that the Bavarians secured the victory once they scored a second goal.

Bayern were good value for their 1-0 lead at halftime after having been far and away the superior side during the first half, but Inter did come out with an aggressive attitude during the second half, clearly hunting for an equalizing goal immediately.

There were brief spells of momentum for the Nerazzurri in this respect, but in the end the Bayern defense was able to keep them at bay without too much trouble, waiting for the opportunity to launch the decisive attack of their own, something they did to effectively take the wind out of Inter’s sails.

“Inter are a good team,” Salihamidzic reflected after the match, “it’s always hard to play against them. They had several chances to score, especially in the first twenty minutes of the second half. Then our second goal killed off the match.”
