Inter’s form at the start of this season marks an even more difficult moment for coach Simone Inzaghi than the period last season when the team took only seven points from seven matches in February and March.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who argue that this period has been more damaging because, apart from the results, the underlying performances have shown more damaging flaws during the period.

Last season Inter had endured their toughest spell of the campaign in February and March when their form came to a dramatic stop as they dropped points against the likes of AC Milan, Napoli, Sassuolo, Genoa, Torino, and Fiorentina.

It was enough to see the Nerazzurri miss out in a title race where they had at one point looked in firm control, although in most of their matches during the period that sense that most observers got was that they would have perhaps deserved more points than they picked up.

The first month or so of this season has been a bit different than that in that, even though the points dropped have not been quite as dramatic, the performances have been even less convincing, and now coach Inzaghi has his work clearly cut out for him if he is to fix the problems that have been appearing in the team.
