Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that the 1-0 win over Torino that his team got this evening was exactly the kind of result they needed to recover some momentum.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the coach gave his reaction to the match, praising his team’s performance and highlighting the significance of the result.

Inter needed until the very closing stages of their match with Torino to secure the win, a 1-0 scoreline which more or less reflected the tightly-contested match, but it was enough to take some of the pressure off of them from recent losses to Lazio, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich.

Inzaghi’s men came up against an orgnized and physical Torino team who made life difficult for them and also forced a number of good saves out of Nerazzurri goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, but they edged the win and proved that they can take three points from difficult matches.

Inzaghi noted that it was “A difficult match that came two and a half days after a very intense match against a great team in Bayern. We were good and compact, we suffered together. As a coach, you’re pleased after wins like this.”

Of the team’s defensive performance, the coach said that “We were good, we worked as a team as well as we had to because the team is always the thing that matters most.”

“When you don’t score a goal it’s not the attackers’ fault, just as when you take goals it’s not just the defenders’ fault,” he noted, “but the whole team has to function. Tonight we had the determination and consistency that we were looking for at all costs.”

And regarding match-winner Marcelo Brozovic, he said that “Marcelo scored a very important goal and had a very good performance as his teammates did.”

“I’m very satisfied,” the coach continued, “in the first half we were struggling a bit, partly because of to Torino who never allowed us to have any time to put our heads up with their strong pressure.”
